Mental & Emotional Health Education Parent/Guardian Letter
Please review our school’s Mental & Emotional Health Education Parent-Guardian Letter. As mentioned in the letter, the State Board of Education issued Rule 6A-1.094121 to provide all students 6-12 instruction in the areas of mental and emotional health education, including instruction in the areas of general mental health, substance abuse, and suicide prevention. Our students have received education in the areas of stress and anxiety, anger management, drug prevention, and general wellness during the Drug Prevention Health Day in October and the Wellness Health Day in November. Moving forward, two additional lessons will be taught on January 29th to cover the remaining topics of depression, suicide prevention, stigma of mental illness, and strategies for mental wellness.
